After a indeterminate period of uptime my mouse's automatic scroll
ceases to function, so it would appear that some sort of daemon must be
dying? :-/.  

The scroll function is activated by a 'hot spot' all the way down the
right side of my touchpad pointing device.  Normally, it should function
like a scroll wheel - and it does when the PC is freshly booted.  Anyone
have any idea what I might try to restart when it decides to stop
performing?

FYI: It's a recognised by my system as a ps/2 logitech touchpad.  I'm
running opensuse 10.1 with kde desktop.
