Well, for me it was as simple as download the .deb, dpkg -i and add myself to the vboxusers group.
log out/log in, install windows..

I'd be interested to see how it stacks up against VMWare actually as according to the architecture 
docs they seem to do funky stuff to try and get the performance up (runtime patching of the guest 
and other trickery)
