Most of Linux isn't like this, but perhaps something more like Ubuntu
6.06 as it's an LTS, or Debian stable, or RedHat/CentOS.. these are
distros that are steady and will give you the kind of thing you're
after. Perhaps Gentoo won't fulfill your needs here.
