[plug] Memory problem

Hi

I've been getting intermittent crashes recently, which I think are due 
to bad memory.  memtest showed a few locations intermittently failing. 
I swapped the 2 cards which, if I read the memtest output correctly, 
puts the failing locations at about 830MB (1GB installed).

I really do not want to put more money into this machine.  Is it 
possible to tell linux to only use 800MB and ignore the rest?
