Thanks for that.

I managed to update my computer ("sarge-ish"), and so I thought that I 
would try to update the mailserver (etch). The mailserver had used 
"testing" in the sources list, so I changed it at added the 3fl uRL's.

I then reinstituted the ftp://au.debian line (not shown ion the cat 
listing, but, shown in the commented part of it), and had two 
unsuccessful attempts. Output is below.

Could someone please tell me the problem, and how to fix it?

The "vi-ing" of the sources file after the first attempt, commented ouut 
the 3fl lines, as I thought that they might be the problem.

I didn't "unset LANG", but I had commented out the 3fl for the second 
attempt, so I assumed that that was not the problem.
