[plug] What version of CPU and Linux do people use?

At the moment, Debian Etch on AMD64.

Normally, a variety on AMD64 - Debian Sid, Fedora, SuSe, Ubuntu / Kubuntu,
Slackware Centos.

I intend to build a new computer to run as my home server soon, it will run
Debian Etch on AMD64.
