FWIW, I find the best/only way to resolve problems is to have two of any
one thing and experiment as you are going to do. But, I would hesitate
to try flashing the video bios as the way to tackle the problem :-/.
Chop and change the two cards as you are proposing to isolate/narrow the
problem. Eg., boot your box with a spare, working card first to check
there are no mb problems. This assumes they are both capable of using
the same slot. If not, try and diagnose the problem card using sax to
configure it as your secondary card. Then if successful revert to using
it as your only card. Try it with the standard drivers long before
considering the NVidia ones.
