[plug] screen resolution

Help needed again... please.

The upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy was interrupted in the first instance
by what appeared to be a bad line with large numbers of packets being
re-sent. However the following suggestion from the ubuntu.au list
restored the upgrade icon and allowed successful completion of the Gutsy
system:

sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.backup
 > then
 > sudo sed -i 's/feisty/gutsy/g' /etc/apt/sources.list
 > then
 > sudo apt-get update

Prior to attempting this upgrade, still under Feisty, I installed the a
kernel with higher timing resolution in order to try running Rosegarden
(not too successful tho'), and when I ran the higher resolution version
under Gutsy I've ended up with 800x600 screen resolution.

I really don't think that the interrupted installation had any bearing
on the problem, but in any event I've tried the gdm-setup and
Screen-resolution GUIs without success, and don't know where to go from
here.

It seems to me that at the start of the boot process while the UBUNTU
screen with it's orange bar is doing it's thing, the resolution is ok at
1024x768 or thereabouts, but after it goes black and returns with the
text segment of the boot-up sequence it has reverted to 800x600.

Any help appreciated... please.
