[plug] screen resolution resolved

Please ignore my plea for help about 10 minutes ago.

After pressing the 'send' button I wondered what would happen if I 
booted up in the higher timing resolution (lower latency) mode again - 
and lo & behold it came up in 1024x768. I then rebooted in the generic 
Gutsy mode with the same result. Hallelujah. I've just spent the better 
part of three hours on this!
Just as well I'm retired...
