Hi all,

Just to clarify a couple of things with Lenovo, Yes Lenovo did buy the PC/Laptop division, but they are still bound buy IBM as design and style.

You will find Lenovo laptops are IBM thinkpads, and will stay this way cos IBM designs and builds them, Lenovo just puts their badge on them.

I know what you your going to say next, "How do you know this?", well we(the company I work for) are an IBM partner and we sell alot of IBM/Lenovo Servers/PC/Laptops and need to know our products.

If you are looking for a good laptop, try the "T" series ie T60p or T61, lots of wiki support and true separate ram for you video card.

I'm currently running Ubuntu 8.04 on a T60p, std install with E17, all my hardware works, ie bluetooth/wireless/hdaps/biometric finger reader/sleep and hibernation very well.

Nice 1680x1050 wide screen, I get 150fps in Q4 @ 1024x900, dvd playback is nice and smooth and I can watch a whole movie with out being on charge. The battery gives me 3hrs+, and I'm using it constantly.
