There is a 'plug-n-play' install of a LAMP setup available called
xampp. "The XAMPP download includes more than just Apache, MySQL, PHP,
and Perl. It also includes a number of related open source packages.
Included and integrated are OpenSSL, PEAR, phpMyAdmin, ProFTPD, and
Webalizer." to quote an interesting article here:
http://www.linux.com/articles/45744
Caution: It overwrites any lamp setup and packages you may already
have. Tried it once myself and the install was painless, but then I
didn't follow thru' with full configuration so can't comment furhter
:-/
