Right, so the process doesn't contain vnc in the name, perhaps
x0rfbserver or something else entirely?

Perhaps try netstat -aevpn|grep " 590"

Or run netstat -aevpn|less (or |more if you don't have less) and see if
you recognise anything obvious

Try netstat -aevpn|grep 5900 on that server, and see what process name is
bound to that port.
