My tests show that this does. Thankfully, so it's working with "mount
--bind" ontop of itself.

I could, but that would require splitting up the home drive, which is
large, and would then limit the size of public. It's only local home
use, so being able to just suddenly dump a really large iso onto
public is useful for my family, for example, moving it from one
computer to another.
