Why 8.10, when 8.04 is Long Term Support (supported for another two 
years from now), and 9.04 is due to be released in about 3 weeks?

I had a number of problems with 8.10, on my laptop, and replaced it 
with 8.04.

Also, have you considered subscribing to the Ubuntu Users list? It is 
well worthwhile, for technical support.
