What? You mean TCP/IP packets sent via email? Has that really been
implemented?
More seriously, for really tough firewalls, the answer is NSTX.
TCP/IP over DNS.
DESCRIPTION
nstxd listens for well formed DNS requests and translates them
into IP packets. Responses are sent in
the form of DNS replies. This allows clients to tunnel IP
packets over the DNS protocol.

But for real work, as Adrian said, use a 3G phone or modem. It avoids
not only the network firewall, but the paperwork/politcial firewall to
get authority to connect your laptop to the LAN.
