Seconded. When the first drive in my VAIO failed, I hooked it up to a USB adaptor and sealed it in a 
freezer bag. An hour in the freezer before I powered it up and I managed to copy _all_ the data off 
it (cloned the entire disk) with no errors. I just left the drive in the freezer and ran the cables 
out through the seal.
