It mostly just works for people, but like *ANY* upgrade there are always going
to be some people who have problems.[1]
That said, handbrake isn't available in the stock repositories, so you were
presumably running a version for an older distribution.
If you built from source, rebuild against the newer libx264 in 10.04; if you
installed from an upstream repository, check that was updated correctly, or
file a complaint with them.

Just FWIW, handbrake-gtk runs fine on Debian/sid, which means it can run fine
on 10.04, provided you have the right build and all.
