[plug] error trying to boot into ubuntu 10

Hi,
May just be grabbing at straws, but...
Have you checked your system bios, and checked the mode of your
pata/sata onboard devices?
In the past, I could not boot into linux unless sata device was in a
specific mode.
Cannot help you right now on what mode was the right one, or what worked
for me (been a while back, and not with that pc now), but I do recall it
looked like the hard drive was faulty when the mode was 'wrong'....
