You just contradicted what you just said...

Yes you need to reboot linux occasionally... Kernel Updates etc.

I think the real question is why are you rebooting a Linux server - are 
you missing windows? :-P

Seriously though, I once had a senior tech tell me with a straight face 
that if you were rebooting a Linux server you were doing something wrong 
- obviously he hadn't heard of kernel upgrades ! (and yes - this was 
before Ksplice)
