CODE BROKEN
A group of scientists working for the National Research Institute for
Mathematics and Computer Science in Amsterdam today said they've broken
the RSA-155 security code used to protect zillions of daily Internet
transactions, including credit cards. It took them 6 weeks using a Cray
900-16 supercomputer, 300 PCs and special software, but it does highlight
the need for tougher encryption.
