[plug] Linux traffic control

G'day all,

I've been a long time user of htb for controlling my adsl traffic. I
bumped up against a particularly bothersome issue with it tonight and
after spending a couple of hours ferreting around I stumbled across the
hfsc traffic scheduler.

As with most schedulers, the documentation is sparse to non-existent.
Having said that it was a doddle to configure, and it improved my
traffic control so far it's out of the park.

I was seeing peak latencies in excess of 1s due to large packet queues
going upstream. Changing sched's from htb to hfsc has made zero impact
on my bulk throughput, however interactive traffic (skype, ssh & ping)
has improved out of this world.

If you've never heard of it and you use htb currently, have a gander.
It's worth it!

Regards,
Brad
