[plug] Noise on SBS A40 when moving mouse

My money would be on a slightly open connection on the audio cable or
audio plug/socket.

Try a pair of ear buds in the socket to eliminate that.

Not familiar with the A40 speakers, but if they are worth mucking with a
multimeter can indicate the state of the cabling after opening up the
speakers.

Worth a look.
