I've not been burned by any properly chosen device (e.g. TCO) for well
over a decade. Kyocera is my usual go-to brand, but since I haven't
made any purchases in recent times, my fanboi status has faded. Our
refurbished Lanier MP C2050/LD520C purchased last year in a hurry
without much thinking (or my involvement) is working out very well.

The way I used to do it, was to call some suppliers and ask for advice
and prices, then look at the TCO and details, including
https://www.openprinting.org/printers
Harris Tech, PLE, Netplus, Austin, etc the usual set of suppliers,
pick any $num. Kyocera only did direct sales at the time, but prices
were fine (in light of TCO).

HTH,
Greg.
