Hello
As you will have seen, we're running another Installfest this Saturday:
https://www.plug.org.au/installfest/
It will only be for three hours because we don't expect a huge number of
installees this time. We missed a chance by a couple of days to promote the
event on Curtin Radio. With a core audience of 55+ it was an opportunity to
help people with Win10 to refresh their laptop rather than retire it.
On the first revived Installfest in August, we had a few PLUG people come
along and chat about projects etc so feel free to drop in and say hello. If
you also have someone you've wanted to help with an installation and haven't
found the time, this is an excuse to bring them along and have other PLUGers
there to provide knowledge for any wrinkles or finding desktop applications.
We plan to run another Installfest early in 2026 and we will have more time
for promotion. It was always expected that it would start slowly so we'll see
what Saturday brings and then be ready for a well promoted event in the new year.
We've also had feedback from Steve Foreman who has people at MustardSeed
expressing interest in Linux. Growth in Steve's Linux users provides an
pathway for application support that hasn't been a strong part of the main
PLUG list.

If you see Steve or one of the MusteedSeed members on the day, please say
hello and ask if any specific help is required.
All the best
Harry
