[plug] New PC for linux

A friend of mine is buying a new PC and he wants to run linux on it.
I told him to make sure he doesnt get a win modem, so he asked the
salesman if the modem would work under linux and of course the salesman
didn't
know but we found out the modem is a "Web Excel 56K Internal Modem" modem.
I can't find out if this is a win modem or not, does anyone here know
if this modem will work with linux?
