And you can put these instructions in the xdm logon banner, I have:

xlogin*greeting: CLIENTHOST - Use ctrl-alt-F5 then ctrl-alt-del to reboot. 

in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xresources.

I just wish I could have put some newline chars in this.
