Well basically out of ignorance, since there seemed to be no out put
from the lpr command 
and nothing turning up in the print cue nor any other error messages of
an kind I though it was worth a stab. Dumb or what. 

> Check /var/spool/lpd/lp/log maybe.
Nope nothing here either although I notice a lock file is being created.
