[plug] Linux halting at bootup

Gudday all

I have long wanted to try my hand at Linux and have now finally got around
to setting up a box .. I have a P100 with 16Mg and a 1.6Mg HDD (what can I
say .. its all spare parts ;) .. I got a distro copy of Redhat 6.0 and
installed it .. No probs so far .. After finishing the install it then
reboots and starts LILO .. Here is the problem .. When it is uncompressing
it comes up and says "CRC Error - System halted" .. I have tried 3 different
Hdd and swapped out the memory .. The box boots up fine from floppy but will
not boot from the hdd .. Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light
on this little problem ..
