Not too sure

Yes

No

Yes it says Access Denied underneath the heading for connecting to Linux
Server, below is a quick example of some of the the notes shown in the log,

	Access denied to directory \.automount.
	Access denied to directory \bak.
	Access denied to directory \bin.
	Access denied to file \bin\bash.
Unable to open the file \bin\bash - skipped.
	Access denied to file \bin\sh.
Unable to open the file \bin\sh - skipped.
	Access denied to file \bin\sleep.
Unable to open the file \bin\sleep - skipped.
	Access denied to directory \boot.
	Access denied to directory \dev.
	Access denied to file \dev\atibm.
Unable to open the file \dev\atibm - skipped.
	Access denied to file \dev\audio.
Unable to open the file \dev\audio - skipped.
	Access denied to file \dev\audio1.
Unable to open the file \dev\audio1 - skipped.
The file \dev\aztcd in use - skipped.

A bit curious as too why access is denied when I log in as root and the
agent.conf file uses the root account password to try and gain access to the
directories/files to backup.

No

No
