Yes, it detects the hardware quite well. It decided that my 1.2 gigabyte
root partitions simply was 0.8 gigabytes too small, that I needed five
times more space than logically possible...need I say more.

X is a pain in the provebial backside. on a clean distro RedHat 6.0
should work straight off. If it's not clean then forget it.

I agree. Nonetheless, I find KDE patronising. I personally prefer GNOME.
I think that if you need KDE to run Linux you may as well stick with
Windows...there's more programs and it's easier.
