If you want things to be anything approximating secure then yes it
should.  Obviously you don't care that much about security -- and that's
fair enough.  But your priorities are not the same as everybody elses.
Everyone must assess their own security requirements (preferably with
the aid of someone who can provide technical assistance) and implement
these.

In Bret's case he has apparently decided (wrongly or rightly)
that he has very strict security requirements.  He has also decided that
viewing attachments inline is too much of a risk in relation to his
requirements.  I'm not entirely sure what brought him to this conclusion
but it's his conclusion and you should probably respect it.
