I'm getting more and more impressed !!  Could you pass on the init string
that you used (particularly to lock V90) ?

Reading the minute manual that comes with the modem, it's interesting to
note that the Select Modulation command examples, as given in the manual
itself, give an error !  Of course the warning notice to Australian users
insisting that AT&P1 must be maintained, also gives rise to an error.

I agree - but under MickeySoft the problem doesn't arise because the
installed drivers handle everything for you, including init strings.  BTW,
what's  %C3  ?  The other elements I recognise.

Poor documentation together with a previous experience of a Winmodem is
partly what prompted my question - is this beast a windows only modem?
Since you got one working, the answer is clearly NO.
