Last I heard was that iiNet were waiting for Telstra to release their hold 
over ADSL to other vendors.  This was supposedly to happen in August but 
iiNet (and several others) were skeptical about Telstra's ability at 
actually achieving this date.  I believe iiNet are expecting to offer ADSL 
to their customers early in the new millennium =).
