Thanks for that.
But I didn't mention that the notebook currently has a Xircom 10Base-T/100
PCMCIA card (which wasn't in it when I installed Linux), and that I read
somewhere that this was a difficult card to get to work.
Have you had any probs with it???

I've always had good experience with Xircomm cards I don't know about the
latest realport/cardbus adapters tho.
I have an old P75 with 2 10/100 creditcard adapters running as a gateway device.
