Hmmm, Amanda uses smbclient, which has a tar mode in it. smbclient allows
you to go out and backup an SMB file system from a Windows box and send it
to stdout which you may be able to pipe into taper.

Unfortunately, neither smbmount nor smbclient understand extended
attributes, so any ACLs on the Windows NT file system are not backed up!
