Sorry to keep hammering the list people, but....

...has anyone had any experience with designing/implementing languages? I want
to implement a smallish language (for an accounting system Im working on),
probably a compiler of some sort. Im not sure what Im going to implement it in,
but is there anything generic to do/look out for????
