Ok then,
Most linux distributions install the FAQs and HOWTOs onto your harddrive.
Task 1: find them. They will probably be somewhere in the /usr/doc
directory.
A good howto to read is the NET-3-HOWTO. I think it covers the inetd
superserver and will point you in the right direction.
