I think you will find it is KDE that is causing your Alt-Tab not to work
in xvncviewer.. Any key combination that your window manager has bound
will never be seen by the applications running underneath it.

I don't have Alt-Tab defined in my window manager (fvwm) config, so
Alt-Tab works as usual in xvncviewer.

If you are not too attached to Alt-Tab in kde, just tell KDE not to do
anything with it...
