Bring some (4?) floppies to the next UCC meeting, and we'll make 'em up 
for you. Even better, haul the machine down there, and it'll get assimilated/
installed. ;)  When is the next one? January? Otherwise, email me off list

I've been using it for about a year. Sweet.

Self compiled applications go into /usr/local/<app>/ or /usr/local/bin. 
Have a read ofthe Debian Policy ni the development area of gthe Debian 
web site. It'll tell you the locations of various files, and offer 
resaons for this in some cases...

LJ is supopsed to be quite good, but I haven't subscribed to any. I find I 
read the web-zines, and thats sufficient for me. lwn.net, /., news.com, 
The Reg, etc.
