Delightful - I'd love to hear it. I need to buy myself a set of the
radio series on CD - I haven't seen my cassettes in some time (though I
did memorise them ::-) ).

Anyway, the program you want is "gramofile":

(or "apt-get install gramofile") . Works great, and yes I do have a
stereo with turntable conncted to my machine, though I usually send
sound in the other direction. <grin>
