And hence, <holy-war>
apt-get install pppoe
</holy-war>.
I'll let you know my experiences when I get past the red tape...
My home line was registered as a business line. Bigpuddle wont install
a freedom product on a home line, despite me alreday having
a business line with DSL provisioned through iiNet at the business address.
The service address for this line is clearly a residential address.
OK, fine. Regregister the line as a residential number.
Telstra have to physically disconnect the service to reconnect it as
a residential line. They cant do this when the line is in use, so I have
to organise down time (albiet at home, but a hassel anyway) when I unplug for
an hour so they can disconnect it and reconnect it to change the listing as
residential.
And... one department won't talk to the other.
Hand me my shot-gun...
