Hey,

I think you aren't unmounting the cd before you are ejecting it. Taking a
wild stab at your mount points try this

root at box:~# mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

All yoru usual commands follow here

root at box:~# cd /
root at box:~# umount /mnt/cdrom

Then you can eject it manually or do 'eject /dev/cdrom'. However you many
need to replace /dev/cdrom with the location to your cdrom if you dont
have the symbolic links setup.
