[plug] web access to PostgreSQL

Agreed :) Both languages are good, altho my knowledge of PERL is
limited which is why I promoted PHP :)

I would disagree with the 'why use PHP' tho. PERL, while obviously a
fantastic language, is kinda all things to all people. I would question how
easy and rapid it is to develop something web-ish when compared to PHP. PHP
was built from the ground up to be a server-side scripting language. PERL on
the other hand was designed as a glue language.

All Im saying is that PERL might be a bit too generic for the
average joe-blow to whip something up. PHP on the other hand is so easy to
learn it isnt funny. However, if you only want to learn one language in your
lifetime, it might as well be PERL or Python.

	Perl all the way dude

Its easy and fast. Very few gotchas. Plenty of pre-existing code
	snippets and libraries to use.
	<snip>

Just to show that substituting Perl with PHP in Simon's message is
equally as
valid. People are going to promote both languages because they are
both good.
In my opinion however, why bother learning PHP which is more limited
to web
applications rather than Perl that can be used for almost anything!
