Just for interest .. from tha man page in the parameter listing:
writable (S)
Synonym for "writeable" for people who can´t spell
:-).
If you can browse the share, list the contents and read from the directory
(eg. copy a file out), then it is likely a file permissions issue as Phil
has suggested.
