I also use gFTP.  I really like.  Pretty easy using those arrow buttons to 
shoot the files from one direction to the other (client to server and vice 
versa).

gFTP also handles recursive transfers very well.  Sending entire directories 
is trivial.  I think the program can even be configured to copy sim links, 
although I am not 100% on this.

One of the main reasons I use gFTP is to download large CD-ROM image files 
(.iso).  If your network connection is a bit flakey, the program will keep on 
trying until it gets the job done.  Crank it up, go to bed and when you wake 
up in the morning there will me a nice new .iso just waiting to be burned!
