[plug] Debian ver 3.0

I loaded Debian 3.0 onto my old AMD 233 MHz computer without any real
problems.

I have just built and AMD Athlon 1.8 GHz computer and partitioned the disk
50%:50% for Windows:Linux.

Win 98 SE is up an running fine in it's partition.

During the installation of Debian I used cfdisk to partition the free space
on the disk:

16 MB boot partition
9 GB Linux root partition
1 GB Linux swap partition

I just mention this in case it has some bearing on the error message, which
was:

file: /instmnt/pool/main/i/iptables_1-2.6a-5_i386.deb was corrupt

I must have re-run that step a dozen times before giving up and abandoning
my installation.

It is funny that the same CD worked on one computer but was declared
"corrupt" on the newer computer.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Kind regards,

James Elliott
