[plug] [OT] Quantum Fireball 6.2gig stability question

I'm using one of these on my Debian system and have recently heard from
some people that these have a tendency to to break after a few years. I
bought this in 1999 and I've never had a problem but I'm wondering if I
should start using another drive.

I backup my home directory at least once a week to cdr but I'd still
appreciate being able to avoid any downtime / data loss.
