Hi Jacqueline,

If Hotdog dont move to Linux have a look at Quanta (quanta.sourceforge.net)
which has links to documentation for functions etc, syntax highlighting, mdi,
and all the usual guff. Plus one of my favourites is the saving to an ftp
location via KDE (instead of saving to /home/mnold/blah i could save to
ftp://home/enspace/htdocs/blah/ and every time i hit save it re-ftps it)

One of my fav. editors is www.ultraedit.com which is for Windows (so doesnt
really help you move :) and has heaps of nice features and is cheap and has
plugins for syntax highlighting for 100's of languages (even ADA!)

Back to un*x, Emacs has the above features and so too does Vi (or Vim) but at
the risk of offending everyone they're not nice.

Also have a look at KATE which is a part of the more recent KDE distro's
which is good too.
