/etc/X11/X should be a symlink to your xserver, which are normally in 
/usr/bin/X11/

in my case (I use Frame buffers) i'd do the following to create the link:

ln -s /usr/bin/XF86_FBDev /etc/X11/X

I think the normal one is XF86_SVGA, but I don't have it installed to check.
