[plug] xfree problem

ok ... thanks to Leon i am able to have my Radeon SDR (QD) detected and dri
and all the rest
seems to cause no problems (or so says my Xfree log)

Can anyone tell/help me in understanding why i get a working mouse but a
black background
which i can not interact with and once in X i can't get out by using
ctrl+alt+1(or any other number)?

ctrl+alt+backspace also doesn't work. when i telnet in i try to kill X but
nothing happens except i
can then no longer move the mouse :(

Any suggestions would be appreciated
